Robertson's specialised experience in manufacturing hardwood
timber products dates back to the 1950's. We source all our materials
from all over the world, and as Environmental Policy members
of Forests Forever, we recognise our responsibilities to both
the environment and the well being of the local people; we ensure
that the timber used only comes from sustainable and well managed
forests. A long standing relationship has been developed with
our raw material suppliers, ensuring that we receive only the
best kiln dried iroko and that all our timber arrives on schedule. |

 | Our timber
comes from Ghana in West Africa where, in 1907, Mr Thompson first
established the Forestry Department whose principles were based
on conservation. Ghana has long had a forest policy that is the
envy of the world and today operates a strictly controlled selective
felling and effective yield management system thus ensuring that
its rain forest continues to grow and flourish. | |
| Iroko is
superior to all other woods for the manufacture of garden furniture
with the exception of teak. However, by comparison it is more
attractively priced. It is a material that will cope with all
weathers without treatment. Its inherent durability is renowned
in the boat building industry and it is used extensively in Eire
for their premier range of windows and doors. |

John Robertson Ltd. products are entirely manufactured from iroko
hardwood in our Suffolk factory by skilled craftsmen. Traditional
construction methods are used, with doweled mortised and tenon
joints. Screws and Allen key fixings not being used in any of
our furniture. Meticulous attention is paid to detail and all
components are generously proportioned ensuring life-long durability.
Only the best kiln dried iroko is used as high quality iroko
furniture which will give you years of use. |

years' experience of furniture design and wood production and
who now concentrates on making individual pieces. He has worked
with JRL to produce a range of garden furniture that is timeless
in its style and extremely sturdy. |  |

occasion together with an excellent selection of chairs. All
the furniture is designed to complement each other and with absolute

Robertson Ltd. offer a selection of cushions, all of which have
been tailor made to fit the furniture. These cushions are excellent
for outdoor furniture as they are rot and fade resistant and
have removable covers. We also offer a selection of parasols,
which have a generous durable hardwood frame, Scotchguard treated
canvas TM with matching canvas cover, leather straps, brass fittings
and a double pulley system |
