 Made on Earth only uses wood where the forest of origin has been independently inspected and evaluated according to Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) principles and criteria.

Through its extensive contacts in Indonesia, Made on Earth has sourced reclaimed teak with full FSC approval, backed by its own Chain of Custody.

Founder Richard Ballard has created effective partnerships with the developing countries where Made on earth Furniture is produced. The company donates five per cent of its profits to children’s charities in and around the areas of production to make a real difference.

 Teak

The attention to detail in every step of our manufacturing process is obvious in the finished product. A combination of the latest technology with time-honoured techniques sees kiln-dried timber secured with traditional mortise and tenon joints and teak dowels. Structural joints are dowelled and glued with an epoxy furniture adhesive for their durability, while specially designed brass fittings with a steel threaded insert give maximum strength.

Weave

 Made on Earth combines traditional skills with design innovation too and in this year’s collection you’ll find the striking designs of David Fox making their debut in our Tia range.

This new collection of all weather furniture is made from synthetic weave on a powder coated aluminium frame. It is extremely durable, being resistant to UV, chlorinated and sea water, high and low temperature while being colourfast and maintenance free.
